The Life Workshop with Carrie Spaulding Terms of Service

Please read carefully. By registering for The Life Workshop (also herein referred to as TLW) with Carrie Spaulding, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service. Please carefully read the terms below.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve decided to join our Get-it-Done community! I can’t wait for you to meet the other members, support each other, learn from each other, and get stuff done. To support a welcoming, safe, and productive environment for all of us, all members agree to these terms and conditions.

Group Norms:

I understand that in order to support connection, engage full presence, and equalize vulnerability, this is a camera-on group. I agree to connect from a place where I can have my camera on, and turn my camera on for opening, exercise/discussion/group activity, and closing (to the very best of my ability–of course, true technical emergencies happen). Camera is optional for independent Get it Done (GID) time.

I agree to be a settled-in-place position for the opening, exercise/discussion/group activity, and closing (i.e. not running errands, driving, multi-tasking, etc.)

I agree to show up on time and stay until the ending of the sessions I attend, unless I have personally arranged otherwise with Carrie. (In the case of Tuesday split sessions, it’s okay to arrive or leave at the halfway point, 4pm Eastern Time.)

I understand that ALL members must take a brief survey every cycle, and I agree to complete all cycle surveys within 1 week of the date they’re posted, and to do my best to do so without extra reminders.

I understand that this program is intended to provide a welcoming environment for all, inclusive of different experiences and identities. Recognizing that we all have awareness gaps, I will take care to speak with kindness and respect, and to be as inclusive as possible. I agree to bring a generous spirit as people in the group may be stepping outside their comfort zones!

I understand that in the event I am uncomfortable with something expressed during the program, I am invited and encouraged to share that privately with Carrie. I understand that I am welcome to reach out to Carrie via email with feedback at any time.

I understand that in the very unlikely event that Carrie determines that my presence in the group is compromising the wellbeing or safety of individuals in the group or the group at large, I may be removed from the program at Carrie’s sole discretion, and I agree to abide by that decision without retaliation. If I am removed from the program for violating these terms, I understand that I will not be entitled to any refund.

“No-ghosting” pledge: I enter this program with the intention to participate for the full program. I understand I am free to leave the program at any time. In the event I decide to leave the program early, I promise to communicate this decision with Carrie directly. 

Eligibility:

By registering for this program, I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age.

Logistics and Schedule:

I understand that this program meets on Zoom.

I understand that this is a live, real-time experience and that recordings of the sessions will NOT be provided by Carrie or permitted by participants. I understand that just like an in-person program, if I miss a session, I miss it.

I understand that the basic TLW schedule is subject to change and that I am free to not renew my membership if the schedule changes in a way that doesn’t suit my schedule.

In the event any bonuses are included with this program enrollment, I understand that some bonuses may require additional sign-up forms or agreements in order to be activated.

I understand that each cycle will have some cancelled sessions due to holidays or days Carrie is unavailable. I understand that some sessions have an extended 2-week pause. I understand that some cycles will end up with more or fewer sessions depending on these variables. I understand that Carrie may sometimes have to cancel a session on short notice (though efforts will be made not to do so).

I understand that Carrie may occasionally have internet issues which result in less-than-optimal connection. I agree to be patient with this!

Force Majeure:

Carrie shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside of reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, internet or technology failures, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events.

Payment Structure and Refund Policy:

I understand that TLW operates on a 2-month cycle, and that I have flexibility to maintain continuous membership or come and go cycle-to-cycle. 

I understand that the payment structure is subject to change.

I understand that TLW is available as a free bonus of some of Carrie’s services. If I receive TLW membership as a free bonus of those services or as part of a promotion, I understand I’ll have the option to continue in TLW as a paid member when my free membership expires.

I understand that I am welcome and encouraged to attend as many sessions as I’d like. I understand that the fee for TLW membership is the same regardless of my attendance.

I understand I am free to leave the group at any time. In the event I decide to leave the group mid-cycle, I understand that I will not receive a refund.

I understand I cannot “pause” my membership; exceptions may be granted on an emergency basis by special arrangement with Carrie.

Recordings: 

I understand that sessions will be recorded by Carrie for internal review and development, and that Carrie may select clips or screenshots from recordings to share and promote the group publicly, which may be shared online or in print. I consent to being recorded and to the use of select excerpts (including video, audio, or screenshots) for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes, which may include my participation. Carrie agrees to use discretion and care in selecting any such materials, and will not intentionally include sensitive or personally vulnerable sharing in any public-facing content.

I understand that recordings may be stored on third-party platforms and personal storage systems. While reasonable efforts are made to protect this content, no system is completely secure, and I acknowledge and accept this risk.

I understand that I am responsible for choosing what I share during the program.

Confidentiality and Responsibility

Because of the nature of a group program, I understand that this group program/community is not subject to the same confidentiality guarantees as a private coaching relationship. If I am also a private coaching client, all content of my private coaching sessions will remain confidential. I understand that I may share as much or little as I want to, and I hold Carrie harmless in the event something I share spreads beyond the group in a way I did not intend.

I understand that any information I add to group documents, including personal details and contact information, can be viewed by any TLW member, current or future. I understand it is voluntary to contribute to these documents.

I understand that because this program is publicly known to include many of Carrie’s past or present private coaching clients, others may infer, rightly or wrongly, that I have been a private client of Carrie’s.

I understand that this program is not the same as private coaching, therapy, counseling, mentoring, or consulting. I understand that this group does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association. I understand that neither this group program, nor coaching, are substitutes for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care or substance abuse treatment and I will not use the group in place of any form of diagnosis, treatment, or therapy.

I understand that I am free to accept or reject any suggestion, request, idea, experiment, homework assignment, reflection, opinion, or feedback offered by Carrie or by any member of the group, and that I am fully responsible for my own decisions and outcomes regardless of what ideas, information, feedback, opinions, or suggestions may be offered.

Limitation of Liability:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carrie Spaulding and Spaulding Coaching and Facilitation LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to my participation in the program. I agree that my participation is voluntary and at my own risk, and that I am solely responsible for my decisions, actions, and results.

Indemnification:

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Carrie Spaulding and Spaulding Coaching and Facilitation LLC from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to my participation in the program, my conduct, or my violation of these Terms.

Respecting the Work:

I understand that I am not permitted to record this program in whole or in part in any form, including in audio, video, or photo/screenshot format, and I agree not to do so.

I agree not to share, redistribute, recreate or publish–in whole or in part–any materials or resources provided to me or generated in TLW (including but not limited to the program structure, exercises, and design, handouts, links, collaborative resources, and content from group discussions) without Carrie’s explicit permission.

I agree not to share the Zoom meeting links with anyone without Carrie’s explicit permission.

I acknowledge that all program materials, content, and proprietary frameworks are the intellectual property of Carrie Spaulding. I agree not to copy, make derivative works from, teach, license, or sell these materials, or create a program, product, or service that substantially replicates the proprietary content, structure, or frameworks of this program.

Governing Law:

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in the courts of Pennsylvania.

Updates to Terms of Service:

Carrie Spaulding and Spaulding Coaching and Facilitation LLC may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued participation in the program after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Overall Agreement:

By checking the agreement boxes and completing registration, I acknowledge that I have read and understood these Terms of Service and agree that this constitutes a legally binding agreement.
